Startling revelations have emerged regarding North Korean leader Kim Jong Un’s health, as South Korea’s National Intelligence Service (NIS) unveils concerning information. According to the NIS, Kim Jong Un may be grappling with a sleep disorder, exacerbating his alleged dependency on alcohol and cigarettes.
Yoo Sang-bum, the executive secretary of the parliamentary intelligence committee and a legislator for the People Power Party in South Korea, shared insights from the NIS briefing. It appears that the North Korean government is actively gathering overseas medical data on treatments for insomnia, such as the medication Zolpidem. The NIS report indicates that Kim Jong Un has displayed signs of a sleep disorder and an increasing reliance on alcohol and nicotine. This news comes amidst North Korea’s preparations for potential nuclear weapon material usage and Kim Jong Un’s call for escalated production.
In addition to these concerns, Mr. Yoo revealed that recent AI analysis of Kim Jong Un’s photos suggests weight gain, estimating the North Korean leader’s weight to be over 140 kilograms. The intelligence committee member also noted Kim Jong Un’s accumulation of Western cigarette brands like Marlboro and Dunhill, along with upscale appetizers typically paired with alcoholic beverages.
Furthermore, Mr. Yoo expressed worry about the deteriorating conditions faced by North Koreans, including food shortages, soaring grain prices, and alarming spikes in crimes, suicides, and deaths due to starvation. These circumstances shed light on the immense challenges faced by the North Korean population under Kim Jong Un’s rule.
While North Korea’s recent satellite launch attempt failed, the Seoul government’s false emergency notice caused panic, with the South Korean intelligence service confirming that Kim Jong Un witnessed the launch. The situation continues to unfold, raising concerns about the state of affairs in North Korea.
