Google Pixel Fold Display and Camera Specs Detailed
The foldable smartphone market has been slowly growing over the past few years. Samsung, Huawei, and Motorola are among the companies that have released foldable phones. Google is now set to join the fray with its Pixel Fold. Renders of the Pixel Fold surfaced back in November last year, and thanks to the same leaker, Jon Prosser, we now have the complete specifications of Google’s first foldable smartphone except for the battery capacity.
In this article, we will delve deeper into the Google Pixel Fold’s display and camera specs, which are the two most essential features of a smartphone. We will also discuss other specs such as the processor, RAM, storage, and connectivity. Finally, we will look at the Pixel Fold’s pricing and availability.
Google Pixel Fold Display
The Google Pixel Fold is rumoured to have two displays – an inner foldable OLED display and an outer OLED display. The inner display is said to be 7.6 inches with a resolution of 1840 x 2208 pixels, a 6:5 aspect ratio, and a 120Hz refresh rate. The pixel density of this display is 380 PPI. The outer display, on the other hand, is expected to be 5.8 inches with a resolution of 1080 x 2092 pixels, a 17.4:9 aspect ratio, and a 120Hz refresh rate. The pixel density of this display is 408 PPI.
The displays on the Pixel Fold are crucial as they are the primary interface between the user and the device. The high refresh rate of 120Hz on both displays is a welcome addition as it will provide a smoother and more responsive experience when scrolling, playing games, or watching videos. The larger inner display will make it easier to multitask and use apps that require a larger screen.
Google Pixel Fold Camera
The Pixel Fold is expected to have an excellent camera system. It is rumoured to have a triple rear camera setup consisting of a 48MP primary camera, a 10.8MP ultra-wide camera, and a 10.8MP telephoto camera. The primary camera has a 1/2″ sensor with an f/1.7 aperture, OIS, and CLAF. The ultra-wide camera has a 121.1° field of view with an f/2.2 aperture, while the telephoto camera has a 5x optical zoom and a 20x Super Res zoom. The camera system also features an LDAF sensor for fast and accurate autofocus and can record 4K video.
The front camera on the Pixel Fold is expected to be a 9.5MP shooter with an f/2.2 aperture. While the front camera specifications are not as impressive as the rear camera setup, it should be more than enough for video calls and taking selfies.
Other Google Pixel Fold Specs
Apart from the display and camera, the Pixel Fold is expected to have some impressive specs under the hood. It is rumoured to be powered by the Google Tensor G2 processor, which is the successor to last year’s Tensor chip. The Tensor G2 will be paired with a Titan M2 security chip, making the Pixel Fold one of the most secure devices on the market.
The Pixel Fold is also expected to have 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and either 256GB or 512GB of UFS 3.1 storage. The device will run on Android 13, the latest version of Google’s mobile operating system.
Connectivity-wise, the Pixel Fold is said to support 5G SA/NA and 4G VoLTE. It will also have Wi-Fi 6E 802.11ax, Bluetooth 5.
