In a significant development ahead of the state Assembly elections, Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has made a groundbreaking announcement. He revealed that each household in the state will receive 100 units of free electricity. This move comes after Gehlot interacted with the public and observed inflation relief camps, taking their feedback into account.
Through his Twitter handle, Gehlot shared, “Based on feedback received from the public on electricity bill exemptions and fuel surcharge, a major decision has been made.” As per the announcement, individuals consuming up to 100 units of electricity per month will not be charged for their consumption.
“The first 100 units of electricity will be completely free. Regardless of the bill amount, no charges will be levied for the initial 100 units,” stated CM Ashok Gehlot.
Additionally, he declared that the state government will waive permanent charges and fuel surcharge on electricity bills for consumption up to 200 units.
This move by the Rajasthan government aims to provide relief to the people of the state and is expected to have a significant impact on the upcoming Assembly elections.
