Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate nine Vande Bharat trains, marking a record-breaking launch on a single day. These trains will serve various destinations, including states heading to polls, such as Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh, on the 24th of September.
The Vande Bharat Express, donning a striking orange color, will be the first to embark on the Kasaragod-Trivandrum route, unveiling a new color scheme for the trains.
Previously, the Gorakhpur-Lucknow Vande Bharat Express and Jodhpur-Sabarmati Vande Bharat Express were launched on the 7th of July, nearly two months ago.
The Prime Minister will inaugurate these new trains virtually from New Delhi.
While eight of the Vande Bharat trains feature a classic blue-white color combination, the ninth will sport an eye-catching orange and white combination. Additionally, there are plans for 10 more Vande Bharat trains in the orange-white color scheme.
The Vande Bharat trains will operate on the following routes:
- Indore-Jaipur
- Jaipur-Udaipur
- Puri-Rourkela
- Patna-Howrah
- Jaipur-Chandigarh
- Chennai-Tirunelveli
- Ranchi-Howrah
- Jamnagar-Ahmedabad
- Chennai-Hyderabad
Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw will be present either in Odisha or Rajasthan for the launch event.
Puri-Rourkela Vande Bharat will become the second such service in Odisha, following the launch of Puri-Howrah Vande Bharat.
Rajasthan, which already has a Vande Bharat train for Jaipur, will be receiving two more Vande Bharat trains this month.
Madhya Pradesh, on the other hand, already has a Vande Bharat service for Bhopal, Jabalpur, and Ujjain, and a new one will be added for Indore.
Currently, there are 25 operational Vande Bharat trains across the country. With the addition of nine more this Sunday, the total number of such trains will reach 34.
