In an exciting development, Sony LIV 2.0 celebrates its third anniversary with the revelation of the release date for the much-anticipated series, “Scam 2003: The Telgi Story.” Set to premiere on September 2, 2023, this gripping show continues the legacy of Hansal Mehta’s acclaimed “Scam 1992: The Harshad Mehta Story.”
Hansal Mehta himself took to Instagram to share this news, posting a video and stating, “Special announcement on the 3rd anniversary of @sonylivindia. #Scam2003.” Produced by Applause Entertainment and SPN Studio Next, directed by Tushar Hiranandani, and written by Karan Vyas and Kiran Yadnyopavit, the series boasts an incredibly talented team including Sameer Nair, Deepak Segal, Priya Jhavar, Danish Khan, Saugata Mukherjee, and Gagan Dev Riar.
“Scam 2003: The Telgi Story” is based on journalist Sanjay Singh’s book, “Reporter ki Diary,” which unravels the infamous Abdul Karim Telgi’s Stamp Paper Scam of 2003. Viewers can anticipate an enthralling narrative that traces Telgi’s journey from his humble origins in Khanapur, Karnataka, to becoming the mastermind behind one of India’s most audacious scams. Spanning 18 states and causing ripples nationwide, this scandal amounted to an estimated value of Rs. 20,000 crores.
The series benefits from the creative collaboration between Kiran Yadnyopavit, renowned for his contributions to the Marathi film industry, and author Sanjay Singh, the original whistleblower of this shocking scam. With Applause Entertainment at the helm of production and Studio Next lending their expertise, “Scam 2003” promises to captivate audiences under the directorial guidance of Tushar Hiranandani and Hansal Mehta.
